Who are we?

The Training Centre is the Training division of Market Street Consultants, an organisation delivering bespoke Cybersecurity, Project Management and Risk Management solutions. Since it's inception in 2007, the business has grown across the whole of the United Kingdom and into the Republic of Ireland. This expansion has also included our training delivery.

Our Training team has grown to some 75 in number and delivers skills in all of our Categories. Each of our Training staff has undergone extensive vetting, assessment and ongoing training to ensure they deliver the best experience ofr our delegates. All have a minimum of 15 years experience in the chosen field, with a wealth of experience not just within the workplace, but in delivering training that engages, motivates and develops our trainees. In the last three years, our training staff have delivered over 3500 training days in Cybersecurity, IT Governance, Data Protection, Risk Management, Healthcare Governance and Securities and Investment Certification, with a focus not just on imparting knowledge, but on helping you to understand the application of this knowledge, allowing you to implement your learning effectively.

The Training Centre was originally borne of the need to address the real business issue - the skills gap - not just the well documented Cyber security skills gap, but all of those supporting skills that seem to be missing and are simply not taught at school level.

What exactly are these skills gaps?

Just look around you. Anyone with vision can see the way the world is going. Study after study has shown skills gaps in Information/Cyber Security, Big Data, Analytics, Risk Management and Data Protection. Add to that the growing gap in some of the traditional skills - Project Management, Microsoft Office skills, Digital Marketing skills and Regulatory Compliance - and the need for training in these vital areas stands out.

How can we help?

Understanding the skills gap is one thing, doing something about it is quite another. Thankfully, we have created a single solution that meets all of the above needs and more. Add to that the understanding and know how to make learning more efficient and effective, while keeping it easy and interesting, and we have a solution that fosters a better learning experience. With a focus on our core business delivery goals - technology-driven, skills-centred and quality focussed - we can deliver training opportunities that deliver success, in formats that suit our growing client base.

Our Approach

For too long, training has been a case of delivery, rote learning and certification, with no real engagement from trainees. The net result of this is that employees have ticked the boxes, but haven’t retained the necessary knowledge, or considered its application. At The Training Centre, we deliver our Courses in a blended learning format, a technique which is now used in modern-day classrooms and universities across the country. Blended learning consists of a combination of face-to-face training, team exercises, mini-tests and discussion which delivers diversity and therefore increases engagement and motivation. By having a face-to-face element, there is an instructional factor to training, with the discussion sections allowing for autonomy, gamification and the opportunity for learners to demonstrate that they have understood, rather than simply learnt. It is a myth that training needs to be boring; no matter the subject, we deliver courses that genuinely engage, and our trainees perform better on the courses themselves, and later in the workplace, as a result of our dynamic, varied, blended approach.

As an ISO 9001 certified company, we are dedicated to the continuous development and improvement of our courses and their delivery. The cornerstone of this is client feedback. We value all kinds of feedback from our trainees, and we spend a great deal of time investigating how this feedback can lead to tangible enhancements to our offerings at The Training Centre.

All of our courses are Accredited. Full Stop. No discussion. That is our guarantee to you.

Rest assured then, that all of our courses are the official materials from the Course provider, whether that be APMG, Axelos, the IAPP or whoever, we only deliver the latest, most up to date, offical training.

Making Training Accessible

We understand that the two most significant barriers to training are time and money. With blended programmes, the short duration of the courses limits time away from the office. On the financial side of things, we offer Direct Debit payment for all our courses, so you can spread the cost over a 6 or 12-month period. For courses up to and including £1200 (or €1500), we offer 6-month payment plans, with 12-month plans available for all other courses. These plans are all provided at 0% interest, and we don’t carry our credit checks, so your rating will not be harmed by applying for this. This also means we never turn anyone away for finance, no matter your credit history.
